With every season becoming wedding season, Saturday weddings are no longer the only dates dominating calendars. Times are changing - schedules are becoming more flexible and Sunday weddings are no longer looked at as an inconvenience for guests! With Sunday’s rising popularity, we’ve gathered our favorite perks of a Sunday kind of love so you can grab a date before they’re all gone!
1. A Full Weekend To Explore Raleigh
Bring on the Friday night dinner reservation and a full day Saturday exploring all the fun things to do in Raleigh! One of our favorite things about a Sunday wedding is that it allows your guests to enjoy a full weekend in such a cool city! Saturday weddings can easily create a rushed visit when traveling for a wedding and will have them headed back home before they can really see all that the city has to offer. Sunday weddings allow your guests to take their time coming in before kicking things off and having the night of your life with your guests!
2. Flexible Work Schedules
With the majority of work turning virtual (thanks, Covid-19!), it’s now as easy as bumping that zoom meeting up a few hours or finishing that last project while waiting at your gate in the airport on Monday afternoon! Pre-pandemic, Sunday weddings weren’t as popular due to couples’ fear of inconveniencing their guests but that’s no longer the case! Sunday has now become a desired day without hesitation due to the majority of guests ability to work remotely!
Sunday weddings have quickly become a win-win… and here’s why! Guests are no longer seeing Sundays as an undesired day to party AND wedding vendors often offer discounted rates compared to Fridays and Saturdays! In the past, couples have always focused on Fridays and Saturdays… causing vendors to raise their prices for these desired dates. But like we said… times are changing even though the prices haven’t yet! So hurry up and beat the vendors to it before they raise their prices for Sundays!
4. Better Vendor Availability
As not all couples have taken advantage of the flexibility of Sundays quite yet, you will most likely have your first pick of top-tier wedding vendors! If the perks above haven’t convinced you yet, then you’ll be thrilled to hear that Sunday weddings will most likely allow you to have your preferred season, date and vendors. So… you can literally get all that you want!!
5. An opportunity to make your wedding more unique!
Who doesn’t love a wedding that stands out from all the other ones they have been to?! Sunday weddings can have a different feel than a Saturday night reception and we are loving how unique our Sunday couples have made their big day! I mean let’s be honest… who wouldn’t love a Sunday brunch wedding with a full mimosa bar?! Still wanting that same late-night party vibe? You can do that on a Sunday, too!
6. Instant Gratification
With the pandemic pushing weddings out, there are more people than ever looking to get married within the next year or two. Couples who have been set on a Friday or Saturday have been forced to book their wedding years out but taking Sunday dates into consideration will allow you to have your wedding when you actually want to! So take a deep breath… we have found your way around a three year engagement!
7. Traveling On Mondays > Traveling On Sundays
If you’re going straight to your Honeymoon the morning after your wedding, then no need to stress about walking into chaos at the airport! With the majority of people traveling on Sundays, that Monday flight of yours will be a breeze to get to! No long lines at TSA, packed airport shuttles, and overbooked flights… sounds like the best way to kick-off your honeymoon right?!
So... are you wanting a Sunday kind of love just as much as we are now?!
