When we think back to Kristen and John’s wedding day we can’t help but smile from ear to ear. There was so much love and joy in the air. Their ceremony was the first one held on the bright green lawn of The Merrimon-Wynne House and we couldn’t have been happier with the beauty that transpired. Not one person that day could deny that these two were meant to spend the rest of forever together. The way they look at each other, the way they speak of each other, even the way they grin when they hear each others names. These are the things a marriage is all about.
The guests in attendance made the day even more memorable. John and Kristen’s friends were dancing the night away thanks to Just Music DJ Service. Some guests actually ended up changing into “dance attire”, making sure their fancy tuxedos weren’t to get in the way of their fabulous moves. The energy in the room was contagious. We wouldn’t doubt it if at some points in the night every single guests was out of their seats joining in on the fun, which included a limbo stick created by the tying of two ties (still attached to their individual owners), a game of leapfrog and some killer breakdancing moves by the groom himself. We are sure that this type of energy was due to the yummy food that filled their bellies by Sage & Swift, the catering branch of Watts Grocery in Durham. We love them because they are a farm-to-table type of caterer that focuses on using fresh, natural ingredients.

The tossed “snow” during Kristen and John’s exit made for a perfect end to a perfect evening as the newlyweds departed their reception as Mr. & Mrs. John Snow. The images captured by Callie of Nancy Ray Photography during this brief exit really captured the mood of the entire day.
We are looking forward to many more love-struck ceremonies and energetic receptions at The Merrimon-Wynne House this spring!
