It’s so important to us that our couples can bring their own style into The Merrimon-Wynne House and our Sip & See is the perfect opportunity to envision all of your ideas for your special day! Come enjoy a glass of sparkling while touring our spaces at your leisure and envisioning what your special day could look like with us! The Merrimon-Wynne House has so many possibilities so what better way to inspire our couples than to showcase some of the unique designs that we have seen!

The Main House


The Main House is the heart of the venue and we cannot wait to show you around! At our Sip & See you will have the opportunity to tour our preparation suites and envision what it may look like to get ready there on your wedding day! Following your ceremony, your guest will be welcomed into The Main House for cocktail hour where they can enjoy drinks, hors d’oeuvres and explore the charm of this historic home! In addition to the home’s century-old mantels and mirrors, our rental space includes cocktail tables, bar fronts, and two full lounge sets that allow for an easy set up for you and leaves a lasting impression on your guest! There are so many ways to easily elevate this space and we love to see how our couples incorporate these pieces into their cocktail hour!


The Carriage House


From dinners to dance parties, The Carriage House has seen it all! The Carriage House provides a beautiful space for you and your guest, no matter the weather, and can easily be transformed from ceremony to reception while your guests are enjoying cocktail hour inside the Main House. The Carriage House gives our couples peace of mind, knowing that any and all parts of your wedding day can be indoors in our climate controlled space! Its grande chandeliers and high ceilings create the perfect setting for a wedding reception, while also providing an elegant space for an indoor ceremony! Our rolling glass doors open up onto the pergola and lawn - allowing your guest to easily mingle throughout your event! The pergola can also be enclosed and climate controlled at any time to ensure comfort for all parts of your event! During our Sip & See, you’ll also have the opportunity to test out the MW Studio, Merrimon-Wynne’s in-house photo booth. During your reception, the MW Studio is the perfect addition to provide additional entertainment for guests and ensures everyone leaves with images and memories that will last a lifetime! The possibilities are endless and we are excited to share all the unique designs our couples have created in our space!

The Lawn


The Lawn offers many different functions for your wedding day that can be incorporated into any and all parts of your day! This setting provides the perfect extension to your cocktail hour - allowing guest to flow from the Main House to the outdoors whenever they want! Our complimentary outdoor lounge set, umbrellas and lawn games bring your guests together and help create memorable experiences while we prepare for the rest of the evening! Beautiful borders of century old-trees, along with the Main House, create for the perfect backdrop for your wedding day photos! Whether it’s exchanging vows or conversations over dinner, there are so many options with this outdoor setting and we cannot wait for you to envision it for yourself!

An Evening To Ignite 2024!

WHAT. A. NIGHT! In partnership with Band Together and La Fête Planning & Design our annual fundraising event, An Evening to Ignite, was a night to remember! Hundreds of individuals came together in support of our 2024 charity partner, Neighbor To Neighbor , a local non-profit dedicated to reversing the debilitating effects poverty has on the most vulnerable families in Raleigh. They believe in providing long-term, one-on-one mentoring relationships for teens resulting in positive generational leaps in education, employment and personal development. What started as an idea and a dream in 2017 to bring together community members and events industry vendors to make a large-scale impact for one local, grassroots nonprofit has become a reality and grown into an annual event that raises over $150,000 each year! With the amazing support of our sponsors, vendors and local community, we are so proud to announce that we raised $201,933.32 for Neighbor To Neighbor ! Every single dollar that was raised will help bring to life Neighbor to Neighbor’s dream of a state-of-the-art teen tech center that will create more training pathways, mentorships, and employment opportunities for youth in our community. We cannot wait to see this space realized! The success of this event is due in large part to the generosity of our vendor community and their contributions of time, effort, staffing, materials, inventory, and talents. Over 40 local event industry vendors came together to donate over $250,000+ of goods and services to ensure 100% of the proceeds raised during the event went directly to Neighbor to Neighbor. Year after year, our vendor friends continuously raise the bar by outdoing themselves and helping make Evening to Ignite bigger and better than the year before. We are eternally grateful to be in such a collaborative and talented industry!
